Support for Mothers
-
Are you a mother?
-
Are you tired of people telling you it will get easier and to cherish these moments when you have babies or young children?
-
Do you feel like you are drowning and cannot keep up?
-
Do you find yourself resentful of other moms who seem like they have it all together?
-
Have you lost yourself?
Being a mother is the hardest job you will ever have.
The days are long and the nights are often even longer. Just when you think everything is under control, something changes or there is some new crisis or disaster. Riding this rollercoaster is exhausting on every level. Often you give and give, and there is very little in return. It feels like someone always wants something from you. It is hard to function from such a depleted place.
It is amazing how our children trigger such visceral reactions in us.
We thought we dealt with this issue, but here it is again bubbling just under the surface. We don’t have to be the perfect mother, just “good enough.” But, it can feel like an insurmountable task when we are overloaded with ideas and images from social media and our information-driven society.
There are many support groups
MOPS, MOMS Next, online platforms, playgroups, and other organizations that are created to help moms. However, when you are really struggling, those things can feel like they aren’t enough. Did you know that making sense of our own life story is the single best thing you can do for your children? As a mom, your children are watching your every move. It is so important that you model self-care for them!
Often therapy can help!
Sometimes we need someone to really listen, feel our pain, and not need anything from us much more than getting our nails done or a day at the spa. As a therapist, I have over 20 years experience helping moms. I have specialized training in child development and attachment so I can help you with feedback on your concerns with your child’s behavior or your parenting. I am also a mom to three girls so can speak from personal experience. My own therapy has been incredibly helpful in raising my girls and keeping my sanity. I hope to provide healing, reassurance, humor, and relatability to you as a mom.
Please do not hesitate to call if I can be of assistance and support.
I provide weekly individual therapy for moms.
